This army I built on a whim. I started with a few warbeast and Rask as a Warlock.
RASK
I liked Rask because of the model and the back story. I decided to build a small force for a 35 point level game. The warbeast were versatile and I liked the fact that to be used effectively you need to master the one-two punch type of tricks.
BLACKHIDE WRASTLER
SWAMP HORROR
BULL SNAPPER
IRONBACK SPITTER
I also chose a few solos since I did not want to invest in purchasing units just yet. I already had one Croak Hunter (which I purchased by mistake a while ago) I added two more to take advantage of their Gang ability.
CROAK HUNTER
Finally, I added a Totem Hunter. I added him because a) the model is awesome!, b) this model kicks ass!.
TOTEM HUNTER
I built all of the models and played my first game....it did NOT go well. The Gatormen army is a little "tricksy" and it has the ability to achieve a sudden and overwhelming victory. BUT, you have to know the conditions that create the opportunity for victory (it probably only comes once in a game) and take advantage of it immediate. If you don't...forget it! Army is only good for an Assassination Victory. After I played my 2nd or 3rd game, I got my first win. I decided to flesh out the army to the 50 point level and invest in units to build up the Tiers and add another Warlock so that if I wanted to, I could run the faction in a tournament.
...next, we add units and select a 2nd Warlock!
Those don't look like automatons!!! :p
ReplyDeleteSweet. A buddy of mine ran gators in a Steamroller a few weeks ago and did well with them. Like anything else, practice, practice, practice. Gotta say though, I love these models, especially the Swamp Horror...
